- VALIDATE YOUR WEB PAGES
As mentioned in the course notes its highly recommended to use the WC3 validation service to validate your web pages. Although this can be quite frustrating its your best tool to assure your web pages display somewhat correctly on all browsers. See Point 2. - VIEW YOUR WEB PAGE ON AS MANY BROWSERS AS POSSIBLE
Once your pages have passed the WC3 Validation Tool now view your web page on as many different browsers as possible. Determine if the page is how you intended it to appear. Although your page may has passed validation, on certain browsers depending on your code there could still be some display issues. Try Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari (Mac), Opera, etc. - ADD YOUR WEB ADDRESS TO SEARCH ENGINES
If you want the public to find and access your site be sure to add your URL address to Google and other popular search engines. Most search engines provide a "Suggest a Site" tool that allows you to add your address and other important information about your site. See Point 4. - INCLUDE GOOD META DATA TAGS
If you are creating a web page for business or with the purpose to get exposure, it's important that your meta tags are in good order for search engines to access the content. Google and other search engines will trawl your site and look at these meta tags amongst other things to rank your sites content. There are several good resources on the WWW to learn more about meta tags. - WEB PAGES VS HARD COPY PAGES
Remember web pages do not necessarily have to mimic a conventional hard copy book or magazine page. Although both forms of media share some common principles (readers read from left to right) don't be afraid to experiment with layouts, menus and graphics.
